Another Economy is Possible: Using USSF to Create USSEN

Portfolio Description

In this piece, we show how a group of economic activists and academics from different organizations were inspired by the U.S. Social Forum, and the Social Forum movement in general, to come together in a co-creative process. The original intent of the group was to create a block of sessions on economic alternatives at the U.S. Social Forum 2007 (USSF). However, in the end, we also used the USSF to create a new organization, the U.S. Solidarity Economy Network (U.S. SEN,, whose goal is to promote progressive economic transformation in the U.S. and the world.
